Hello,
Alex and I are going to be doing our next scene of shooting today and tomorrow, dependant upon the weather. We've booked out the tripod, a DSLR, a gorilla pod, the focus 35mm lense and maybe some other stuff.
We've done location scouting on Google Earth and found a street ideal for what we hope to do in our next day of filming. The scene will involve a driver heading into different situations. In order to keep the comical feel, Alex has created cardboard props such as a car door and a traffic light. I'll dress up as a sort of formal/smart character with a tie and shirt.
Within the next two days we aim to get the entire next scene shot so we can begin editing and planning our next two scenes. Those include a third character, as well as the entire band scene which we may use the Church that we used in our pre-liminary, or we might use the school hall.

Music Video - Filming [Day#1]
Getting straight into it - we achieved a lot in our first day of filming. We made sure to bring as much equipment as we thought we needed, this included: Gorilla Pod, DSLR, Focus lens, Tripod, Green screen, featurette camera, backup batteries aswell as all of our props - (Chef's hat, clothing, flour, eggs, cupcakes etc.)
The shots we captured were for our first scene in the music video, based on the character of a 'chef' as the lyrics have a semantic field of cooking; with lines like: "tablespoon of one big mess". The shots we were able to capture include (Not necessarily in this order nor will all be included in the final product):
- Zoom out introduction focusing on a banana.
- Slow corner to corner movement with closing in on Chef intro.
- Close-up on Chef putting on shades.
- Over-the-shoulder of chef reading 'How to Make a Music Video' guide.
- Close-up over Chef snapping shut the guide.
- Wide/medium shot of Chef throwing the guide towards the bin.
- Close-up on bin which the guide gets thrown into.
- Close-up over worktop with ingredients sliding across the shot.
- Filler shot - close-up of Chef activating the electric whisk-thingy.
- Close-up of egg smash.
- Close-up of egg crush. (Yes these two are different)
- Wide/Medium shot of Chef throwing a cup of flour into a bowl.
- Wide/Medium shot of Chef mixing the bowl with a wooden spoon.
- Filler shot - close-up of Chef coughing from the flour-power.
- Close-up handheld shot of Chef sprinkling a dash of flour into the bowl. (Some intertexuality; with a reference to the current internet meme - 'Salt Guy').
- Wide/Medium shot of Chef hatching a plan. (Not an egg)
- Fixed Medium shot of Chef walking towards the oven.
- Close-up of a banana peel on the floor with the Chef's foot gliding over it and falling.
- Close-up of Chef falling. (With the intent of adding slow-motion)
- Close-up of the space above the Chef, with flour puffing up indicating the Chef falling over.
- Close-up of worktop with the Chef's face slowly coming into view.
- Wide/Medium shot of Chef standing up with the banana peel on his head.
Extra Shots:
- Close-up of flour box being opened by the Chef.
- Side-angle medium shot of the Chef trying to pour the flour into a cup.
- Close-up of Chef extending his in-focus arm and sprinkling a dash of flour over a bowl.
- Close-up of egg-timer alarming.
- Close-up of worktop with a baking tray of cupcakes being slammed upon it.
- Close-up of Chef opening the oven.
- Close-up of Chef opening the oven and taking the baking tray out.
- Close-up of cupcakes on worktop, then slow pull up to the Chef who appears pleased.

Storyboard - Music Video
Hey,
Very simple post today - these are our storyboard ideas for the different scenes we're going to shoot over the course of several days. We'll probably deviate from some of the shots and perhaps even create some new ones on the day.
