Designing the logo has been an on-going challenge - mainly because Alex and I were unsure as to what we wanted exactly; we definitely knew we wanted to be original. When we started, we aimed for something with perhaps a little picture, something to identify our logo as a brand and not just the name of our band. So these are the first drafts for our logo:
As you can see we, originally, liked the prospect of having the text with an icon. However we drifted away from this design as we didn't like the idea of certain pictures not being recognisable. Which brought us to our next design - plain text. This revolved around our band name being the logo itself. After some research, looking at the websites of bands such as Nickleback, to see how they're represented. We noticed a pattern emerging that bands tended to stick with their name, which was of course the easiest way to recognise them:
We liked the simplicity of the design and the freedom of design in terms of merchandise. So after a brief period of deciding what route to go down, we've landed on the name-only logo. It provides us with a range of functionality and we can pretty much put the logo on anything. We're still in the process of finishing our website and CD cover.
